Gearing Up for Treasury Blitz...

Wedding Gift Irish Trad Poster
Wedding Gift Poster by funky gibbo

Hi team, don't forget to tie a big knot in your handkerchief and save the date for our treasury blitz with the German team Promo Team De! Our big effort to make as many treasuries as we can featuring both teams takes place this coming Saturday and Sunday 6th and 7th July!

Here are some Irish shops already pledged to take part in this fun on Saturday and Sunday:

Great to see such enthusiasm, but we need MORE!!. If you would like to add your name to the list please use this thread:

It would be nice to include a few items from those who are taking part on both sides if you can, but you can include listings from any members of both teams. Just remember to make it 50% each and to read and follow all the tagging rules etc.

To find our team items please use the team tag: craftyirelandteam or here is our New Listings thread

The German team's tag is promoteamde .  and click here for their New Listings thread.

Now you've no excuse not to find a tonnes of fabulous items from both teams! And you've got 48 weekend hours to make your treasuries, so C'mon Ireland let's blitz the **** out of Etsy treasuries this weekend! (Pardon my asterisk-ish)

And the winner is...

Congratulations AuntyApplesReFinery for winning this month's Etsy Ireland Treasury Challenge 'Teamwork'!!!

Thank you to all those who participated and voted in this rather difficult challenge, and once we have a new Treasury Curator *hint hint* there will be more challenges to come! A special mention goes to Dita Maulani, who joined the challenge from as far as Indonesia.

Now the spotlight is on Apple. You can also admire her Mini Etsy on the sidebar for a week.

Apple is 31 and lives in Arklow. Married to a Dublin man, she has one child, Lennon, who is a cute two years of age. In a past life, she was a Software Engineer, but after having her baby, she fell ill and was made redundant. This very difficult situation led to a new opportunity when her sister, our very own Etsy Ireland Blog Designer, Maggie (thebowmakers), introduced her to Etsy and convinced her to start "the secret making things club" again. This is like a think thank for Apple and her friends - they make lovely, high quality products and sell them as cheaply as possible.

Apple's passion is baking (mostly for family and friends) and out of necessity she had to make her own cake stands. Therefore, she started collecting vintage plates to fill her dresser and ended up with a wendy house full.

She would love to take other people's heirloom mis-matched plates from dusty corners and turn them into something usable. Her inspiration comes from Arklow pottery, because it was made in the place she lives in, Arklow. Furthermore, Apple's mother worked in the pottery in the 1970s. Sadly, like so many things, it is not being made anymore and is getting very hard to find.

The time has come.

Firstly, thank you again to all of you for participating!
I hope you all had fun taking part in our Team Treasury Challenge:Light.
So, without further ado..

the winner is...
Medusa Jewellery with her fantastic take on the theme with the treasury 'Let There Be Light'

Mante has been living in Ireland for the last 10 years but she grew up in Lithuania, in a family where arts and crafts was a favourite past time. Having a father as a jewellery maker and goldsmith and a mother as a craft hobbyist, meant that she and her siblings were surrounded by all things beautiful, with plenty of different materials and tools. As kids they were always encouraged to experiment and explore their creativity and it's thanks to her family and her supporting husband that she had the opportunity to turn her beading hobby into a full time passion that is now Medusa Jewellery.

Treasury Challenge Winner!

It's that time!

Again, first I want to thank all of you for your participation and wonderful enthusiasm! We had a lot of great entries, but there can only be one winner.

So, without further ado...

The winner, with a whopping 15 votes! is...

Anne-Marie of byAMOR with her lovely, winning collection titled, "The Formula".

::break for applause::

Congratulations, Anne-Marie!!

Anne-Marie makes beautiful gemstone jewellery and accessories. I'm especially fond of her use of local Irish Connemara Marble and Sea Glass.

She says, "As a small child I used to paint beach pebbles with my Mum's nail polish, convinced I could make them into shiny jewels. I messed up her polish so badly my Mum decided to buy me some enamel paints and I switched to making paperweights and ornaments for her flower pots.

Over the years I moved on to various crafts from knitting truly awful teacosies, to embroidering dragons and symbols on denim jackets as a teenager. Years later, I rediscovered a passion for shiny things and beautiful gemstones."

And we are glad you did, Anne-Marie! Beautiful work!

We will be back next week with a brand new challenge! Thanks for playing along, everyone!
