Hooray for Prudence!

Six wonderfully talented team members are featured in the May/June issue of Prudence magazine in a feature called 'Which Craft'.

The article showcases the creativity and vibrancy of Fiona from PatchworkDelights and Suzanne from LittleWhiteDog:

Bridget from BridBird and Ger & Bonzie from Bonzie:

and finally Bee from BeeliciousCrafts and Monika from BagNoir.

You'll have to go and buy a copy if you want to read it all! Congratulations to you all and wonderful to see the Crafty Ireland Etsy team in action and in print.

May all your sales explode exponentially through the roof!

New shop listing menu

Hello crafty souls, in an attempt to make shopping with us all easier, I've categorised all the shops in the drop down listing over on the right, under the SHOP DIRECTORY heading. I've broadly used the Etsy site categories, with some modifications.

As I was going through all your shops (and they are all just wonderful ... so many beautiful things!) I've realised that lots of you don't fit neatly into just one category. Some of you do a mixture of things but I have tried to slot you in initially as best as I could.

To make if fair on everyone, I suggest that everyone's shop can appear in up to 2 categories in the listing ... so if you would like to be added in somewhere else in the listing please convo me (propeller) via Etsy and I will adjust accordingly.

I will apologise in advance if I have accidentally deleted anyone or totally misrepresented you! And of course if anyone finds bugs or gremlins let me know.

I am now slightly dazed from looking at so many shops so need a cuppa.

Thanks!
Alex

5 Quick n' easy ways to promote the team!

from left to right : : Clodagh (Clodagh Molloy Jewellery), Angela (Arty Smarty),
Sarah (Red Possum) and Edana (Sailmakersdaughter)

Hello folks! Just Tanya here with a quick team update for you! Yesterday we had our second team meeting. As you can see from the above photo the sun was actually shining - shock horror... Clodagh, Angela, Sarah and Edana kindly posed for this unmissable photo opportunity - cheers girls! Scootin' out of view is our lovely Yvonne who very kindly set up a facebook fan page for the team - http://www.facebook.com/pages/Crafty-Ireland/112796059286

Over some cool drinks in Bewleys we each did a little 'show & tell' of our latest projects for autumn and had a chat about how the team was moving forward and explored ways on how we can help steer the team forward and get some much needed exposure.

So here are 5 pretty simple ways to help promote the team - in your own time! I'm sure you can add to the list, please feel free to share and comment :)*

  1. Tag your shop items with 'craftyirelandteam' - this will make it so easy for fellow members to find your products for featuring here in the blog, in treasuries and for a bit of window shopping too!

  2. Use your shop announcement to spread the word - something simple like 'I'm a proud member of the crafty Ireland team' is ideal! It lets your future customers know that you are an active member of the etsy community and helps create awareness of our team.

  3. Heart fellow members - book yourself some 'off' time to browse through the members etsy shops and pass on some of those nice big hearts of yours! You never know what you might find!

  4. Be Informed! - this blog is really the shop window and noticeboard for the team so its wise to keep yourself up to date. Consider joining flickr too, its a great way to share pictures and promote your etsy. (Have you noticed that nifty flickr badge over there?)

  5. Tell a friend! - Online marketing is great but nothing works quite as well as word of mouth - so spread the word sisters!
Ok I'm all talked out now!... I'll catch you all later! T xoxo ;)
