St Patricks Day Treasure Hunt Update

Hi Everyone

I (Sarah) have taken over the St. Patricks Day treasure hunt. But I am tweaking it slightly.

We have 17 Etsy shops now committed to giving prizes and make it worth the hunter's while, I am going to create 4 prize packs.

So can I ask all the shops to post me their prize and I will put together 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th prize packs and post photos of them so everyone can see! You can convo me through my Etsy Shop Sarah Mai Designs or on Facebook.

Can everyone plug, push and promote this on your blogs, Facebook, Twitter, and any other teams you are a member of.

The questions will be posted here on the Team Ireland Blog, on the Etsy Ireland page on Facebook and on the Team Forum on Etsy on St Patricks Day. The treasure hunt will involve finding out something from each participating shop e.g. How many sections does 'X' have?

Any questions or queries please get in touch with my via my shop Sarah Mai Designs.

Keep an eye on the blog, Facebook and the Team Forum on Etsy for further updates

Thanks

Happy St Patrick's Day to all

Collage courtesy of Stephanie Anabo, the beautiful letters are by Suzie from littlewhitedog

It's a glorious day today, just right for parades, a few...cups of tea and some restrained merrymaking ;)

But I guess that's not what you really want to know...

You want to know who is the luckeeeeee winner of the Etsy Ireland St Patrick's Day Treasury Hunt.

You want to know who won this prize...

Well, so this morning Jacob and I got ready for the grand prize draw.

It took Jacob some time to find his wig and gown, but after some time of meticulous grooming, he was ready.

Under his watchful beary eyes, I pulled one piece of paper out of my woolly hat...

Opened it...

And there it was...the one name of the lucky lucky winner who would receive the largest haul of crafty swag the world has ever seen...

Congratulations, Karen!

This fabulous Treasure Hunt would not have been possible without Suzie, Anne and Grace who helped with the photographing of the letters, Nadine, Letizia, Mo, all the Etsy Ireland team members who donated the gorgeous prize items, the 'hiders' (those 8 members who hid the words in their shops: HandsSeries, yarnsweetie, theletterboxpress, cherryblossomtattoo, Spleodar, Craftemail, ShinyJane and patchworkdelights), all the participants (not one of them got it wrong!)...and...yes, Jacob (who is just raiding the kitchen for some hunny).

Have a great St Paddy's Day ye all, drown the shamrock (and remember, it's Paddy's, not Patty's!)

The Treasure Hunt. Get yer entries in o walk the plank!

The last clue has been published on our facebook page and the first entries have already sailed in!

So exciting! Who will take the booty home?????????????????

Jacob is taking his judge role rather seriously, and has already got his outfit together...

So to recap and to nudge those who got lost on the way or have been chased away by the sea monster, here are the eight clues!
  1. "Toe is to foot as Finger is to ...."
  2. "Woolly Junk Food"
  3. "To Squeeze your Mail"
  4.  "A Tree associated with Chinoisere, Chinese Vases and an Irish Spring. Captured in art form on the body"
  5. "Explosion of Colour" (hint: Irish word)
  6.  "A Sly Shopping Centre"
  7. "A highly polished jungle woman"
  8. "I love sewing in squares"
These clues will lead you to the shops where the secret words are hidden (which are amazing to look at!)
Use the drop-down shop directory list here on the blog to help you find the shops. Once you have discovered the words, rearrange them into a sentence, and whisper the sentence into my ear at purlsofcolour [at] googlemail.com by 23.59 (11.59pm) on 16 March (GMT).

Jacob says he'll be lenient to stragglers who journeyed across timezones to get to the loot and are slightly late, but once the woolly hat comes out, that's it!

Good luck to everybody - the voyage is hard, but there is a haul of swag waiting for one lucky winner!
