Wanna Meet?

It's been a while since our last team meeting and we talked last time about holding the next one outside of Dublin. At present we are deciding between Cork and Limerick as a venue, so if you can make it to either city leave a comment to vote for your preference. As usual the meeting will be held on a Saturday, early in the afternoon. I'm thinking that the end of May should be lots of time for people to organise things. So who's up for it??

  2. If it's Cork, whatever you do, don't go shopping in Vibes & Scribes craft materials shop!!! You will spend ALL your money on their lovely things!! Last time I was in Cork city my friend brought me in there and I couldn't resist buying stuff - it's a brilliant shop.

    Enjoy the meet up :)

  3. I'm for Limerick! Cork is waaay too far for folks from the north of Dublin.

  4. ummm, just tried a meet up with garden blogging friends and it was....weird! Anyway travelling to either Limerick or Cork when I can't drive is a bit much. Enjoy though and take photos galore if it all goes ahead!!

  5. Exciting!I'd vote for Cork by preference but I might make it to Limerick if it's going on there.

  6. Brilliant idea! I would vote for Cork, but if the decision is made well in advance and there are still cheap tickets to Limerick I will make it. Being unemployed does not help travelling a lot;)

  7. I'm definitely voting for Limerick, and I'm also adding the verbal vote from farapinalia too (as she is not a bloggy person).

I totally understand that Dublin folks won't be able to make it down, but this was just a chance to spread the meetings down here so it's not so Dublin centric. Also I didn't want to have to travel up again for another meeting :)

  8. I'd so love to visit Rebel Cork again! But alas, I can't afford it at the moment!
I like the idea of spreading the meetings a bit - don't forget us Northerners :)
It would be great to have you guys up in Belfast - or if it's easier, perhaps in Newry?

  9. Why can't there be multiple meetings??? One person from each location (i.e Cork, Dublin, Galway, Limerick, Belfast) would be responsible for passing on feedback in general by convo to either Ruth or Alex or direct via the blog.

That way we're a proper all ireland network - its always been my intention when setting up the team. There are plenty of us now to make it work for real!

  10. Tanya, I also think multiple is a good idea. I don't think I will be able to make Lim or Cork over the coming month , will keep uptodate via blog ;o)

  11. Cork, please!

I vote for multiple meetings as well...Dublin is just not viable for me, but I'd love to meet up! Also I would love to share leads on opportunities locally.

  12. I'm sure I'd be able to make a Cork meetup. The local meetings sound much doable then everyone from all corners trying to get to one place.

  13. In that spirit, is anyone up for a Dublin meet? It's been a few weeks (!) since the last one so well overdue for more cake and coffee I say. Let me know if any Dublin takers, and I'll suggest Sat 22 May.

  17. Multiple meetings are a great idea guys! Who's up for a Cork meet up on Saturday 29th then? I'm looking forward to my first meeting too!

  18. Magpie, I can't do the 29th, but I'm the one who originally set out to organise a Cork meet up and would hate to miss out...any chance we can do it on a Sunday or on the following Saturday?

  19. We've tried once before with meetings in Galway, but not many people turned up. Maybe it's a good time to try again ;)

  20. dublin on the 22nd is good for me ;o)

  21. Totally agree Tanya - think it would be very hard to organise meet ups in one location - multiple locations sounds much more do-able. I'm defo in for Dublin on the 22nd!

  22. Magpie and Jessamyn, could we possibly shedule a meeting on the first weekend of June? On Sunday 30 I will be participating in a market and I would hate to miss the meeting too. I don't know many crafty people around Cork and I would love to meet some!

  23. I don't mind at all when we have the Cork one Jessamyn and Anastasija! I think I'm away the June bank hol weekend but other then that I'm flexible. :)

  24. Great, sounds like a bit of Dublin interest so I'm going to take the proverbial bull by the horns and say Sat 22nd let's meet in Dublin, 2pm at the Snail Bar, ie same venue as last couple of meetings. Yay for cake!

  25. Unless people were free do do a cork meeting on the 22nd, so we can have one in Cork and Dublin at the same time??? Alex would go to the Dublin one and I'll go to the Cork one. I know it's kinda short notice but a week might be enough time for people.
