Etsy Galway and Dublin Meet-Ups!

Now we can officially reveal what has been organised behind the scenes: Liz Wald, Director, International Business Development at Etsy will be visiting Ireland and meeting with Etsy sellers, shoppers and anyone else interested in Etsy:

Greetings from New York!

Below are the details for the meet-ups I am planning in Galway and Dublin. Please feel free to spread the word as these gatherings are open to sellers and shoppers, as well as anyone who is just interested in learning more about Etsy. I will also put a post on the Storque with these details. The more the merrier!

Wed, Oct 6 - in Galway 19:00-21:00 at the Townhouse Bar (on second floor)
Saturday Oct 9 - in Dublin 14:00 - 16:00 at Snail Bar (aka No Name Bar) - attention! venue changed to Market Bar

Don't be scared off by the crazy Townhouse Bar website--we have first hand knowledge that the venue will be stable :) Our first choice was Jurys Inn (which is across the street from Townhouse) but they are apparently having a private event. I'm told you can still use the Jurys car park.

As for the Dublin meet-up, we've moved it to Saturday at the Snail Bar which I understand is a regular meeting time and place...I also hear the brunch is good so I may show up early and try it out :)

Special thanks to Letizia for letting you all know, as well as to Brigitte Anton and Mary Ryan for helping me organize the locations.

I look forward to meeting you all!
Cheers,
Liz

  7. Not sure if the meeting is the place to go, but I'm a blogger, thinking of setting up on Etsy but a bit daunted by the task. I'm in Galway...should I try and come to the meeting or is it for existing members only?

  8. See you in Dublin.
Like Fi, am a bit awestruck but just looked again at the orginal message from Liz, which may help us focus-
    quote:
'....I see it as a chance to talk a bit about our plans at Etsy, answer your questions and get some insight on any special needs you might have regarding payments, shipping and other local items'

  9. Hi Ester - Opening an Etsy shop is not as daunting as it seems at first. Go for it and best of luck with it!! Liz did say the meeting is open to bloggers, crafters and buyers too by the way.

  10. Oh yes, I am also a bit awestruck and will probably be hiding behind my knitting...

Still, it's a fabulous opportunity to meet somebody from Etsy!

Ester, opening an Etsy shop is easy, selling is the hard bit!!! Do come to the Galway meeting, because it is great to meet people who are doing what you want to do! If it wasn't for the team, I would have closed my shop by now!

Any Northerners going? Or do I have to sit on the train on my own again like Biddy No-Mates?

    *sad violins playing*

  15. Did you all see the post on The Storque about the Ireland visit http://www.etsy.com/storque/events/meet-up-with-etsy-dublin-and-galway-10601/

It says send a quick email to intlevents@etsy.com with Galway or Dublin meet up in the subject line so a rough head count can be given to the venues.
