Sorry I had to take down the post about Phizzfest craft stalls - we've encountered a big problem in that any stall holder would need to have public liability insurance (public indemnity insurance), and without the insurance we could not apply for the trading licences needed to sell outside in a public space.
ReplyDeleteEeek! This is a nightmare! I've never done a craft fair where I needed insurance and trading licence, so I didn't know that stall holders would need them to sell crafts at the festival. I'm going to talk to the organising committee about it tomorrow evening to see if there are any other options we could consider...

It's becoming more common here in the North to ask for insurance, especially when craft markets are organised by City or County Councils or larger organisations.
