News in from Kate at http://www.etsy.com/shop/feltfieltrofilc

"Are you a gallery, craft maker, craft trail, or craft business interested in developing your offering or product to be part of your

local craft tourism market

If so you may be interested in an opportunity to feature your craft product or business in one of a selection of Tourist Information Offices throughout the country. Each office is managed by Failte Ireland and is an important information point for visitors to each area. Featuring your product/promotional material in your local office could be beneficial in helping visitors become aware of your offering or service."

Priority will be given to crafters/businesses who offer:
  • an existing shop outlet or studio where items can be purchased
  • professional craft trails who have come together to market themselves as a group
  • a 'learn to' facility offering an opportunity to learn a craft

CLOSING DATE 6TH AUGUST

Letizia suggests that since we dont have our own premises for CraftyIrelandTeam, it might work if we list the team members who have premises in a Craft Trail????? We might not get it done before this closing date but it could be something to bear in mind for next year?????

Brigitte also thinks we could include team members who have regular craft stalls..... What do you think??????

  1. Very useful thank you!
Was contemplating selling at fairs & markets and was just looking up the craft fair directory before reading this blog ... now it feels like I have to do it because I've read it twice randomly in two different places :p

Thanks for all the info and links :)

  2. The Dunquin Craft Fair in West Kerry is a good size fair and used to always coincide with Louis Mulcahy's annual pottery sale. It's in the middle of November (haven't heard a date yet). There's a big one in Killarney the following weekend that is 2-3 days long.

Sharon - great - send me the links/info when you have them by using the "green disc in pink square" link on the side of the blog.

  5. I really do love the idea of a Craft Trail! That would be fab!

Christmas craft markets in Belfast...the big one is the St George's Market one, but the stalls are quite expensive (£50 a day). I haven't sold there yet, so if anybody has some experience to share, do speak now :)
The Linen Hall Library had a small one last year, so I'll keep my ears to the ground if they do it this year again.
And I'd say, the Fashion Souk will do something special for the season, too...
